How old is Rachel? TWO! (She'll tell you herself). Rachel learned the most important thing about birthdays this year: that there are presents and cake (with "nandles"). Here are a few pictures from her birthday party and other related events.
Cheese! Rachel knows how to smile for the camera, but both Mommy and Baby Alive blinked.
More Presents! Rachel got pretty good at ripping the wrapping off. Note the dump truck in the foreground: Rachel is equal-opportunity when it comes to toys. She'll play with her dolls one moment, then ride around on her dump truck the next. Her new favorite pastime is riding the dump truck off the couch when we're not looking.
Mommy and Rachel read Curious George together. We found a collection of the original stories, some of which Daddy remembers from when he was a kid.
It was a chilly 51 degrees at Rachel's birthday party, but that didn't stop us from getting outside. We had Rachel's party at Desert Breeze park, where there is a playground, a carousel and a train. Grandpa Lanny and Grandma Deb came in to town for the party, as did Grandma Susan.
Nemo and Dory were a big hit, and have since become favorite bath toys. Rachel now knows how to use both fish to squirt Daddy in the face during bath time.
Happy Kid in the Sandbox! This is a rare picture of Rachel in her purple jacket with the hood off -- she usually likes to wander around with her "hood on," no matter how warm it may be outside.
